History of Novak Auto Parts

Novak Auto Parts, Inc., was started by Joseph and Joanne Novak over 50 years ago.
Back in 1956 Joe bought an old Henry J for $50. It was a flood vehicle that he used to take his kids fishing. Soon after, when Joe put that car in his yard to sell, he found that he could sell the motor for $100. That profitable transaction gave Joe the idea to start a salvage yard to supplement his income from his full-time job. Joe spent his days in the mill and his nights searching the town, looking for cars to buy.Little by little his inventory grew. In fact, it outgrew his yard so he had to move it down the road. Then again, in 1970, it was moved a few miles away to the business’ present location on 20 acres on Route 68. Eventually, he was able to quit his day-job and focus completely on running the booming auto salvage business.

As his inventory grew, so did his family. Joe and Joanne raised 3 boys and 2 girls while building the company. The three boys grew up in the business, learning the importance of hard work, quality parts and customer service. They modernized the operation with the first computerized inventory in the area. This system allowed the family to keep a more detailed and accurate account of their ever-growing inventory of over 1700 cars. It also permitted them to access the inventory of salvage yards across the country in order to locate hard-to-find parts for their customers.
